Ali & Ben not only have such a beautiful love story, but they are also beautiful people. For their engagement photos, we went to Briones Regional Park where they popped a bottle of champagne to get the session started. We had a fun evening sharing laughs and getting to know each other.
How They Met
Ali & Ben have such an incredible and beautiful love story. They grew up within miles of each other and went to high school together, but it wasn’t until 2007 as Freshman at Santa Barbara College that they started to get to know each other. For years they party hopped Santa Barbara together and spent their college years creating a beautiful friendship. They graduated, Ben started his career as Ali moved away for her Masters.
Come 2014, Ali received a facebook message from Ben, and just like that they were drawn to each other again and things just fell into place. They talked everyday, Ali visited several times and met Bens beautiful 1 year old daughter Paislee. It was the next year, 2015, the pair FINALLY got together. Since then, Ali & Ben have created a beautiful life for their family. They enjoy fishing, relaxing in Twain Harte and finding the hippiest of places to wine and dine.
The Proposal
2018 was the year, after developing such an incredible friendship for over a decade, Ben was ready to propose. He had a plan to propose to Ali on her 30th Birthday celebration where they went wine tasting in Monterey with their friends. He had picked the perfect location for the proposal, but things did not go according to plan.
It wasn’t until the 3rd wine stop and losing the ring for a few minutes he was finally ready to pop the question. The trolley Ali wanted to rent for the day was sitting outside the winery. Ben took Ali to “look” at the trolley and inside sat her down and read her a letter. At that time Ali knew what was happening and they both could not hold back their tears. Ben got down on one knee and asked Ali to marry him and without hesitation Ali said “YES”.
