Capitola is a lively fun town right next to the ocean. Cinthia & Jeff have a vacation house in Capitola overlooking the beach. Because the town means so much to them, there was no better place than Capitola for their beach engagement photos. It was a beautiful day and not crowded! I loved getting to know and photograph Jeff & Cinthia! They have such a deep love for one another, it radiated all around. There was a time in our session that they had to stop and just hold each other, it was truly a beautiful, emotional moment.

How They Met

It all started in 2012 at work, same company, different jobs. At a work dinner, they instantly connected and from there developed a strong friendship. Together things were easy. They complimented each other, both fun and easy going. It turned into more and the two started dating. Their relationship was then tested when Jeff moved away for work. But after a year of long distance, he came back home! They moved in together and started to build a life together. They enjoy camping and traveling to new places, teaching their corgi Cooper new tricks, having game nights and watching hockey together.

The Proposal

In 2018 Jeff was ready to propose! He enlisted the help of Cinthia’s daughter Gen to plan the perfect proposal. On Cinthia and Jeff’s dating anniversary Gen requested to Cinthia to go to the sushi restaurant where the couple first met. Unbeknown to Cinthia, her daughter was keeping the biggest secret! After enjoying a delicious dinner Jeff insisted on a picture in front of the restaurant. After Gen took one ‘normal’ photo, Jeff said “one more” and at that moment he got down on one knee and asked Cinthia to marry him. Cinthia said “YES!” And the three of them cried in excitement.

Wedding Plans

Jeff & Cinthia were to have a big wedding this month, but due to the conditions we are living in postponed their big celebration to next year. They had a private ceremony where they said their “I do’s” and promised forever alongside Jeff’s sister Aly and her fiancé Branden. It was a special day for the two couples! I cannot wait to capture both their wedding celebrations next year!
